Task Manager is a process and resource view for the server, roughly what top plus a system monitor would give you in the browser. It reports live CPU, RAM, disk and network counters plus uptime and CPU core counts via psutil, and lists running processes with PID, owner, CPU and memory percentage, RSS in MB, state, nice value and a truncated command line, sorted by CPU. You can end a process, change its scheduling priority with a nice value between -20 and 19 (delegated to the agent, since raising priority needs root), and reboot the host through the agent's system.reboot.
The panel's own control-plane processes — the root agent, the ASGI/web process and the background worker — are marked protected and refused for both kill and renice. Detection is layered: the systemd unit read from /proc/<pid>/cgroup, then command-line signatures for dev-mode processes that are not units, plus the process currently serving your request and its parent. A separate scan flags processes that look out of place — running from /tmp, /dev/shm, /var/tmp or /run/user, unlinked from disk while still running, or not owned by any installed dpkg package — each with its reasons and a low/medium/high severity. That scan is a triage aid, not a verdict: the package check only works where dpkg exists and fails safe to flagging nothing, and processes the panel cannot inspect because it runs unprivileged are skipped and counted rather than guessed at. A detail drawer shows a process's open files, network connections, working directory and full command line — and, for admins, its environment with password/secret/token/key values masked until revealed — reading through the agent when the panel itself may not. Processes can also be viewed as a collapsible parent/child tree, and a Users view sums CPU, memory and process count per Linux user. Website owners see only processes owned by their own Linux user and can end only those, with ownership re-verified immediately before the signal is sent.
