The MariaDB plugin installs the server and then manages it from the panel: start, stop, restart, and reload the service, and read its status, version, and data directory. The Databases tab lists every database with its on-disk size and table count and can create or drop them; the Users tab creates and drops accounts, changes passwords, and grants privileges on a database to a user at a given host. A Configuration tab exposes both a raw editor for the server config file and a structured view of common settings, while a Variables tab shows all global variables — with a shortlist of the ones that usually matter — and can set them at runtime. A Processes tab lists the current process list and can kill a connection by id.
Export and import are handled outside the JSON action API because they move binary data: /mariadb/export/ streams a mysqldump of a chosen database as a downloadable .sql or gzipped .sql.gz, and /mariadb/import/ accepts an uploaded dump in either form and feeds it back in. Both run privileged mysqldump/mysql through the root agent. The sidebar entry carries a small badge reflecting whether the service is currently running, and a dashboard widget shows the database count and version.
Two things to keep in mind: this plugin conflicts with the separate mysql plugin and the two should not be installed together, and edits made in the Configuration tab change the server-wide config, so they take effect only after a restart. The install script installs MariaDB Server through apt; if the binaries are already present, it enables and starts the existing service instead.
